As a cashier, Patti is highly regarded by her customers for always taking extra time to help them. So it’s no surprise that she is also excelling in her new role as Community Room Coordinator. “When it came to looking for someone who could take on the role of community room co-ordinator, her name was top of the list,” says Keith Harvey, store operator. Patti thinks nothing of coming in on her own time to ensure events run smoothly or heading out into community to spread the word about what Sobeys offers. One of her favourite events is the cooking classes. “It’s ironic because I don’t cook,” she laughs. “But in the past year, I’ve learned to become a better cook!” Patti feels honoured to have been a Value Champion twice in the past three years. “I’m lucky enough that I love what I do and where I work–not everybody has that privilege. I feel valued and I feel that I make a difference.”
